Branded Caps

A convenient and low budget way of promoting your brand is to give branded caps with the logo of your company, regardless of the season.

Wearing a cap can be related to a trend, to how it looks on your or just because you found a high-quality, attractively decorated cap, whether the brand which promotes it is well known or not.

Usually chosen for summer related marketing campaigns, branded caps have stopped being simple marketing products. The fabrics have developed, allowing plenty of choices, no matter the season or the promoted event.

“Twenty-five years ago, I couldn’t walk on the streets without being recognized. Now, I put on a cap, and nobody knows who I am.” – Paul Newman

What do you need to know about a cap you plan to personalize:

  • The fabric
  • The model, style and cut of the cap
  • The type of campaign in which you want to use the cap

We’ll begin by talking about the type of marketing campaign in which you can use branded caps.

The most known marketing campaigns that use caps are the ones related to sports. This is useful information even if your company is already trading in the sports industry. From marathons to sports contests and to promoting sports in schools, all these events are an excellent opportunity to give branded caps with your logo.

Team buildings and any other non-business event that your employees are attending represent more opportunities to offer branded caps. There are people that transformed wearing a cap into a trademark, including it into their everyday outfit, same way Mark Zuckerberg’s gray shirt became associated with him.

A cap can also be part of employees workwear in some specific industries. In HORECA, you can find many companies that integrate branded caps in their uniforms.

The same thing applies to shops and supermarkets and any other business where a cap can not only improve the look of a uniform but also helps to promote the brand.

Let’s not forget that caps can also be useful in seasonal campaigns. For example, your company may sponsor an event or a festival with a high number of attendees. You can give caps to the event team or even offer branded caps to the participants.

BRANDED CAP TYPES

When talking about the style of the branded caps, choosing their shape and cuts will be the result of multiple criteria. How comfortable will the user be when wearing it, how can you combine the cap with the other clothing apparel in your industry, and, also strongly related to the cap`s shape, how many customization options you have.

To ease the process of choosing a cap from the multitude of models and styles, we saw fit to show an image gallery with the name of every model.

You have noticed in the above images multiple cap styles, each associated with a particular area: baseball caps, golf caps, truck driver caps, rapper caps or French caps.

The caps are also named giving the type of the brim, like the sandwich cap with a thick brim, or the mix of fabrics, like the mesh cap.

Fabrics will determine the style of the cap and attached it more to its recipient. You wouldn’t want to offer French or army caps at a sports event, or a rapper cap at a rock concert, where baseball caps with round visors would be more appropriate.

What fabrics can we find when searching for branded caps?

  1. Cotton – processed in various ways: simple, brushed with a peachy appearance, twill – a fabric created out of compact cotton, with high density
  2. Cotton and polyester mix
  3. Polyester
  4. Polyester microfiber
  5. Waterproof fabrics

HOW CAN WE BRAND A PROMOTIONAL CAP?

The methods of branding a promotional cap are the standard ones used to customize textiles. Depending on the style of the cap, the material, the number of panels and the personalization area, we can use:

  • Embroidery
  • Embroidered labels
  • Direct serigraphy and serigraphy transfer
  • Digital print
  • Sublimation

Embroidery:
Elegant and resistant customization that allows usage of a high number of colors for complex logos. It’s done on cotton fabrics, mixes, polyester or even microfiber, as long as you use additional fabrics that prevent the fabric wrinkling around the embroidery.

Embroidered labels:
Also known as patches, embroidered labels are pieces of fabrics embroidered with a logo or text, and sewn on the cap.

Direct Serigraphy and Serigraphy transfer:
Compared to embroidery, this method can personalize a cap on the brim as well, on its interior or exterior.

Digital print:
This method is used for logos with a high number of colors and in batches of 50 pieces or less.

Sublimation:
A new technique used for direct transfer at high temperatures. This method can customize almost any surface, as long as the fabric contains at least 80% polyester.
